This elegant early 19th century Chinese Export paper originally hung on the first floor of the Royal Pavilion in Brighton. It was removed by Queen Victoria and taken to Buckingham Palace, where it is likely, much of it was used to decorate the Yellow Drawing Room. Sections of the set were returned to Brighton and re installed in the 1920's, when it graced the magnificent saloon . We were asked to undertake the conservation of this  wonderful paper as part of an exciting project to accurately reinstate the interiors. Once work is complete the paper will soon be returned to its original position on the first floor.  The saloon is currently being redecorated and restored to its early 19th century appearance, when the Pavilion was occupied by the Prince Regent.

The Royal Pavilion has kindly given us permission to reproduce this paper and a contribution will be made to enable ongoing conservation projects.

These magnificent papers are specially printed to museum standards in our own studios using the highest quality fine art acid free or Kozo papers and water based pigment inks which have a high resistance to fading.

As each commission is bespoke, we can design the installation to fit your room. We would ask that you supply a measured drawing of the room , or, if preferred, we can arrange a visit from one of our specialist team to check the dimensions for you.
